Kick off the new year with Steps For Sight, our annual challenge running January 1 – January 31. Walk 7,000 steps a day in honor of the 7,000 OM patients diagnosed around the world each year — and turn your January into your yearly fitness kick-off for a powerful purpose. Rare Cancer, Resilient Hope, Revolutionary Research — every step you take helps shine a brighter light on ocular melanoma and the urgent need for progress.
Sign up, sync your phone or fitness tracker to the Steps For Sight app on Charity Footprints, and track your movement all month long. Invite friends, family, and coworkers to join your team, and ask your circle to support your efforts with a donation.
To keep things exciting, we’ll be awarding weekly prizes for the top activity points and top funds raised — so every step (and every share!) counts. And if walking isn’t accessible for you, no problem: participants can earn points through other activities each day, so everyone can join in and compete in a way that fits their life. However you move, you’re helping shine a light on OM and moving us closer to a cure — one day, one activity, and one community at a time. And best of all, all funds raised through Steps For Sight go directly to support much-needed ocular melanoma research — fueling discoveries, accelerating better treatments, and moving us closer to hope and answers. Here's how it works!
• Sign up
• Make a team and set your team goals. Now invite your friends and family to join you.
• Pair your fitness app or device so you can count all the steps you take from January 1 - January 31.
• Share your unique OM story. We really want to know how you're doing!
• Track our progress on the "Eye". Track and encourage others to help us reach our steps goal.
• Post your photos in the scrapbook and show everyone how you are doing.
Here's what you get!
• You could win a prize! Prizes will be awarded for the top fundraiser and the most steps taken for each category and team.
• You get to participate in the largest fundraising project for OM with people all around the world. With your help, we could fund a lot of research.
• Best of all you will start the New Year off healthier and that is good for everyone!
